I work with a number of the local schools in the Staffordshire area looking for support staff to work alongside their classroom teachers supporting the children day to day within their education.

Staff must have completed their level 1 teaching assistant qualification and have at least 6 months experience within schools. The ideal candidate must be proactive, flexible and a good team player.

The schools cater for various needs such as PMLD, SLD and Autism.

The positions are part time but if you are flexible we can place you within a few schools each week to give you full time work.

I have a special school in Leek looking for a teaching assistant on a weekly basis working with children that have severe learning difficulties. You will be assisting the class teacher and 2 further TA’s within the classroom. You need to be an outgoing person, proactive and not be fazed by the children and how they react to different situations. Successful candidates will be requested to visit the school for a face to face interview and perhaps have you in on a supply day. Candidates must have worked within a special school previously, ideally working with children that have severe learning difficulties. The positions are ongoing full time temporary work from September.

The school is based in the Staffordshire area and are looking for someone to start from February on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate needs to be level 3 qualified in either child care or Teaching Assistant qualifications. PMLD and SLD Experienced TA

One of our Wolverhampton based special needs schools urgently requires an experienced teaching assistant. You will be required to work with key stage 1 and key stage 2 and look after children and severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

This role is hugely rewarding and has possible long term placements for the right candidates. The role is to begin on a part time basis (minimum of three days per week) and could possibly increase at a later date.

Your day will begin at 9am and you shall work till 3pm, this will depend on staff meetings etc which you will be expected to attend. If you are required to stay at work later than three you will be given prier notice, usually one week.

Salary will depend on the experience/qualifications of the chosen candidate.

I spoke to a school today looking for a teaching assistant to work within an Special Needs School (SEN).You will be working with early years age children who have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).You will be assisting the children throughout the day with their personal care.Your general daily duties will involve helping the children in all areas of the curriculum, assisting with the preparation of the learning environment and preparing activities and supporting pupils with their individual needs.The school is seeking a candidate who is level 3 qualified and has at least 6 months experience of dealing with children who have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).They are wanting people who are willing to get their hands dirty and get involved on a daily basis.Using your own initiative is very important when dealing with Special Needs children, you will be working alongside the classroom teacher but you need to be able to work alone also due to teachers being busy and having their own duties to be done.
